“Peace begins with a smile” – Mother Teresa

Mother Teresa dedicated her life to serving the sick and the poor. She was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979. Mother Teresa was a woman who understood that the servant life was a worthy life. She loved without question and never judged the ones she served. If you needed her help she was there without any reservation of service. Mother Teresa lived as she loved, with a deep commitment to helping others. Her quote listed above is why I chose to write our holiday letter about Peace.

The election is now behind us. Some feel like winners, others losers. There are certain members of the press who believe we should exclude those who voted against what they wanted from our lives, especially during the holidays and family gatherings. Imagine that, exclude a loved one from my life over a political outcome. Unconscionable in so many ways as far as I am concerned. We can agree to disagree yet come to a mutual understanding that free will includes free choice. You can not have one without the other.

So, to those who say it is okay to exclude family that feel differently than you, I say “political cycles last 2–4 years, my family lasts a lifetime.” I think back to when I played sports as a child, and at the conclusion of the game each team was asked to shake the others hand, look them in the eye and say good game. I may have won this time; you may win next time.

This is the time of year that several major religions celebrate their respective miracles. The commonality between them is a message of hope, peace, love and understanding. Nowhere in any religious text is there a call for exclusion. In fact, the universal message is one of inclusion and loving those who need it most.

Along those lines and back by popular demand, the team at the High Net Worth Advisory Group has chosen highly rated and common cause charities of which we will make a donation in your honor as our holiday gift to you. Our way of recognizing how fortunate we all are and how we can help others less so.

We consider it a great honor and blessing to serve you as our client as we consider you not just a friend, but part of our HNWAG family. During this special time of the year, we want each of you to know that you and your family are not only in our thoughts, but in our prayers.

We may not be able to control the future, but we can choose our attitude and hope that 2025 is a year filled with laughter, love and PEACE for each and every one of you.

Happy Holidays from your HNWAG family!
